Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using ExamPilot AI.

General

Is ExamPilot AI really free?

Yes. Creating an account, generating question papers, using the AI Tutor, generating notes, and English practice are all free - no credit card required to sign up.

Which boards and classes are supported?

CBSE and ICSE, for Classes 1 through 12, across all major subjects.

What languages can I use?

14 languages: English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Urdu, and Arabic. Question papers, notes, and the AI Tutor can all work in the language you choose.

Does this cover competitive exams like JEE or NEET?

No - the platform is focused specifically on the CBSE and ICSE board curriculum, Classes 1-12, not competitive entrance exams.

Do I need to install an app?

No. It runs entirely in the browser and works on a phone, tablet, or computer - nothing to download or install.

Is this only for students, or can teachers and parents use it too?

Anyone preparing CBSE or ICSE material can use it - students studying on their own, parents helping at home, and teachers generating practice material or extra worksheets.

Question papers & practice

How does question paper generation work?

Upload a chapter as pasted text, a PDF, a Word document, or a photo, choose which question types and how many of each you want, and AI generates exam-style questions with an answer key. You can edit or delete any question afterwards, and assemble a full paper with sections and marks for download as a PDF.

What file formats can I upload for a chapter?

Pasted text, a PDF, a Word document (.docx), or a photo/image of a textbook page - whichever is easiest to get your hands on.

Can I edit or delete questions after they're generated?

Yes. Every generated question can be edited - text, options, correct answer, or marks - or deleted, from your question bank.

Can I import official NCERT textbook chapters directly?

Yes, through the NCERT Library - browse by class and subject and import an official chapter straight into your course without uploading anything yourself.

Can I practice questions online instead of printing them?

Yes. Any chapter or built question paper can be practiced online - objective questions (MCQ, true/false, fill-in-the-blank) are graded instantly, and short/long answers are graded by AI with feedback. There's also a Quick Practice mode that mixes questions from one or more chapters without needing to build a paper first.

How accurate is the AI grading?

Objective question types are graded by exact comparison against the correct answer, so those are always accurate. Short and long answers are graded by AI, which is generally reliable but, like any AI system, can occasionally misjudge a borderline answer - the model answer is always shown alongside the verdict so you can double check.

Where do the questions come from?

AI generates them from the specific chapter content you provide, so they're grounded in the actual syllabus material rather than generic question banks.

AI Tutor & learning

What is Coach Mode in the AI Tutor?

A Socratic teaching style you can switch on when starting a new tutor chat - instead of handing over the direct answer, it asks guiding questions that walk you toward figuring it out yourself.

Is there a limit on how many questions or papers I can create?

There's no hard cap enforced right now - the platform is in a free period for everyone. If usage-based limits are introduced later, existing free features will remain free.

Account & privacy

What happens if I forget my password?

Use "Forgot your password" on the login page - enter your email, and a verification code is sent so you can set a new password, no email link to click through.

Is my data private?

Your account, uploaded chapters, and generated content are tied to your own login and not shared with other users unless you explicitly mark a question as public in the community question bank.

Can I have more than one account with the same email?

No - each email address can only be linked to one verified account, which keeps your question bank, papers, and activity history all in one place.
